I know I say this every time I come back from the dead and post something on this blog, but I really want to make a conscious effort to update this thing. And I just got a new 2014 planner (FINALLY) so hopefully I can pencil it in and remind myself to post more often.
To start off, I actually had my camera on me the past couple days so here are a few snapshots of what went on this weekend.
I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to finally have a planner again. And this guy from Muji is perfect. For those of you that know me well, you know I have an obsession with writing things down. I know I could easily jot things down on my calendar and notes app, but I think it’s nicer to have a concrete thing to write down photo ideas, event reminders or even song lyrics that are in my head at the moment. These past two months have been torture without one but I feel organized already!
It’s rare when I’m home on the weekends so when I am, I take full advantage of spending quality time with my parents. This past Saturday we tried out this Vietnamese place and it was SO good. Pho always tends to hit the spot on cold days. Afterwards we just ran some errands. Nothing too exciting, but nothing beats catching up and laughing with my two favorite people.
Another perk of being home on the weekend is being able to hang out with my besties from high school. Since Emily was home for the weekend, we decided to grab dinner at IHOP. Classy, I know. We happened to run into my best friend’s parents and Mr. Casiano was kind enough to sneakily pay for our meal. My heart is still exploding from how sweet that guy is.
Yesterday night, for the first time in 4 years, I finally convinced Jude to get into a photobooth with me. I love photobooths and I bug him all the time whenever I see one so I’m glad he finally complied. I think they turned out pretty cute! Even though I messed up the second frame, it really shows how weird our relationship is.
Welp, here’s hoping my next post won’t be a month from now..
Trying something different.
September was a fun month. The majority of the other photos I have from the month are from my phone so I didn’t feel like including them. I only took my camera out to play twice and that makes me really sad. Hoping this will serve as a reminder to me how lovely it is to capture memories with a real camera as opposed to taking a quick shot on my phone.
I really miss shooting. I say this all the time, but I really want to start it up again. Lately I’ve been thinking more and more about building my portfolio and fixing up my website again. I’ve been so overwhelmed with work all the time that I haven’t made time for myself. I’m hoping I can get out of this rut and start being inspired again.
Seriously, where the hell did October come from. The months have literally been flying by and I can’t seem to keep up.
Guess this means I’m a grown up now. All I ever want to do is sleep all day.
My internship at Small Girls PR has been unreal. Aside from being able to work alongside amazing people and shoot all their fun events, they have given me something I will forever be thankful for. Thanks to them, my photos have been published on websites such as The Daily Meal and Wall Street Journal. WSJ, guys! I still can’t wrap my head around it. This is the first time I’ve ever really been put out there, and although my name is tiny in the posts, it’s still my name. It’s still my photos. Click through the links to read the whole article(s)! I’d really appreciate it : )
I got this fortune a couple months ago and I’ve kept it in my wallet ever since. So what if it’s just a tiny piece of paper? It’s the little things that remind me to keep on keepin’ on. This whole thing may not be a big deal to some people, but it’s a start for me and I am so excited. I’m getting somewhere. And I can’t wait to see where else I’ll go.
Lol, remember how I said I was going to start being on top of my posts? Life has been so hectic that I’ve barely had a chance to sit down and catch my breath. Or even watch all the tv shows and Youtube videos that I need to catch up on! (Yes. It’s a very big deal.) So, because I’m probably going to continuously post my monthly roundups late, I decided to mesh June & July into a giant blob of memories. If you make it to the end, you’re a true friend.
I realized I left out a pretty significant event in my May round up. My anniversary.
I know, I know. How could I forget to include it? Lol, well. Jude and I didn’t get a chance to hang out that day (or on any anniversary, really..) so there were no pictures, and therefore it slipped my mind when I was putting the post together.
Anyway, excuses aside. The 28th of May is definitely one of my most highly anticipated dates of the year, for obvious reasons. As of May 28 2013, Jude and I have been together for 4 years. FOUR. How insane is that? I always laugh to myself whenever people ask how long it’s been because it still kind of blows my mind as well.
We’ve been dating since I was a freshman in college. He’s seen me at my worst, and has been a major influence in helping me become my best. Regardless of how long it’s been, every day together is still as exciting as it was in the beginning.
I’m going to keep this short and sweet. But to put it simply, I am the luckiest girl in the world to have found a guy like Jude to call mine. The love of my life. My ride or die. My forever.
